Summary: To perform testing and analysis of urine samples in an efficient and timely manner.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Properly handling and accessioning patient/proficiency samples.
- Troubleshooting and fixing problem orders.
- Preparing sample plates using liquid handler.
- Performing instrument maintenance.
- Stock and standard prep
- Troubleshooting and fixing instrument issues and calling support when required.
- Keeping up with maintenance charts for the instruments as well as logs around the laboratory.
- Performing lot-to-lot and properly documenting.
- Taking weekly inventories for all reagents and standards.
Postanalytical duties include but are not limited to:
- Review toxicology data coming off a Shimadzu LCMS and review using LabSolutions/insight.
- Review and document daily Calibration and QC and report any trends to management.
- Report toxicology data using LIS.
- Troubleshooting/reporting all chromatography trends to management.
Other duties:
- Comply with safety rules and regulations to include determining proper handling procedures with samples.
- Attending training seminars as needed.
- Submit requests for supplies.
- Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Inform management of any issues or concerns
- Maintain general housekeeping of laboratory.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, and lab software. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and cohesively as part of a team.
Shifts available:
- M-F 10am - 6pm or 11am - 7pm
- M-F 4pm - 12am
