Job Description
Duration: 24 month contract
Location: Clark, NJ (onsite)
Pay rate: $ 28.67/hour
Schedule: traditional first shift (40 hours per week)
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Performs microbial content test evaluations on raw materials, bulk, filled units for sales/test market samples, consumer returns, and special samples as required.
- Ensures accurate evaluation, interpretation, and timely recording of test results and reports.
- Identifies microorganisms and determines microbial content in products, raw materials, and components.
- Conducts microbiological sampling and testing of DI water and performs environmental monitoring.
- Monitors and calibrates laboratory equipment, as well as troubleshoots any issues that arise.
- Manages inventory of laboratory supplies by checking stock levels and verifying receipt of supplies.
- Autoclaves and disposes of laboratory-generated waste in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Prepares culture media used in the evaluation of cosmetics and OTC products.
- Participates in writing/revising SOPs, and Work Instructions
- Demonstrates creativity and resourcefulness in proactively identifying and proposing solutions to issues.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Reports to the Group leader
Preferred Requirements:
- BS in Microbiology, Biology or related field with 1-5 years experience working in lab environment.
- Strong laboratory skills, experience with aseptic technique
- Experience reporting and analyzing data in Laboratory Information Managements systems or MS Excel
- Good understanding of GLP guidelines
- Able to interact and collaborate successfully with all levels of personnel within R&I and with other divisions and departments.
- Well organized and flexible with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while meeting established deadlines.
- Excellent communication (verbal, written, presentation) and interpersonal skills
