The company has 27 operating mines and processing facilities and two additional exploration stage properties across the United States and is headquartered in Katy, Texas.The Lab Technician/Weighmaster position will handle the customers arrival, retrieval of order in JDE, provide instructions to drivers for loading, perform sample testing, maintain documentation, input data, analyze results and perform other duties. This will be a Monday - Friday, 6AM to 2PM and 12PM to 8:00PM. Rotating shift.Essential Job Functions:* Perform various testing of standardized ISO and ASTM test methods (i.e.
particle size, chemistry, surface area, etc.)* Interface with various departments daily, including production, supply chain, customers, suppliers, and sales.* Perform test equipment calibrations.* As necessary, provide technical support to production.* Perform trailer/truck inspections.* Working directly with customers as necessary.* Maintain various spreadsheets as directed to support various departments.* Maintain a clean and organized work area.Required Education, Experience, and Skills:* Must have a minimum of 1 year lab testing and quality experience. Preferably in mineral, powder, or chemical processing* Must have a high school diploma. College preferred especially with Science or Engineering majors* Demonstrated mechanical skill set* History of building collaborative relationships* Strong verbal and written communication skill* Knowledge and experience with safe industrial laboratory procedures including chemical handling* Basic analytical test experience* Intermediate computer and office skills; specifically, Microsoft Excel* Physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 poundsU.S.
