This is entrance level aid work in municipal law.
An employee in this class assists a professional legal staff by writing briefs and performing legal research.
Works under the direction of an Assistant Director of Law.
Characteristic Work
Prepares legal arguments including established precedents in cases involving the City of Akron. Does legal research and prepares legal briefs. Locates and interviews witnesses. Files required legal documents with the governmental agency involved in the court action. Obtains necessary documents from involved agency as required for proper, adequate court action. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an accredited law school and must possess a Legal Intern Certificate or be eligible to obtain it.
Knowledge of interrelationships of government agencies.
Ability to present concise logical arguments orally and in writing.
