Laundry General Maint 2C

Job Overview: Repair and maintain resort vehicles and golf course and grounds equipment. Keep records of equipment maintenance and repairs. Must be proficient in the repair of gasoline and diesel engines, and hydraulic systems. Must be able to read and understand schematics and have diagnostic experience. May assist in welding. Direct and train lower rated mechanics. Responsible for all installations, repair and maintenance of irrigation systems including clocks, valves, and pipes on resort property, golf courses, and contracted residential homes. Responsible for the inventory of supplies and may initiate purchase order requests. Ensure that the irrigation systems are operating properly. May direct crews on special projects on the golf course.

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Service and repair resort vehicles, golf course and grounds equipment.
2. Analyze and properly diagnoseproblems with vehicles or equipment.
3. Order and store parts and supplies; manage inventory.
4. Schedule equipment for regular maintenance; keeping a maintenance log.
5. May do welding or fabricating..
6. Direct and train lower rated mechanics or personnel of the department.
7. Keep garage and work area clean and organized.
8. Perform duties of lower rated mechanics when needed.
9. Lead or assist in special projects.
10. Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
11. Perform duties following safety procedures and policies.
12. Responsible for the proper use, maintenance and care of tools and equipment.
13. Able to operate company vehicles and equipment.
14. Follow both written and verbal instructions from supervisors.
15. Install and repair irrigation pipes and equipment, to include digging ditches.
16. Maintain mileage and fuel records.
17. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Secondary Job Functions:

1. Wash and refuel vehicles and equipment.
2. Service and repair hand tools and equipment.
3. Direct crew on special projects.

Working Conditions:

1. Work in garage that is partially in hot or windy weather conditions.
2. May be dusty wither moderate to loud noise and fumes from fuel.
3. Irrigation mechanic works outdoors in carious weather conditions.

Work Hours:

1. Must be able to work shift and days determined by the manager.
2. Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when needed.

Equipment Use:

1. Truck or car with standard or automatic shift.
2. Utility vehicles.
3. Various hand tools to repair or service vehicles or equipment such as screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, hammers, exact knives, chisels, come-a-long, shovels, etc.
4. Various hand power tools such as drills, power saw, and grinders.
5. Welder
6. Pneumatic tools
7. Satellite irrigation controller

Mental and Physical Demands:

1. Able to manage stressful and challenging situations.
2. Abletostand and walk/sit in cart to oversee golf maintenance operations.
3. Able to bend, kneel, crouch, or reach to check equipment or inspect course.
4. Able to sit at a desk to do administrative duties.

Communication Demands:

1. Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing to employees, managers, vendors and guests/clients.
2. Must have the ability to communicate over the phone or radio.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

1. 3 years related work experience.
2. Possess the skills to effectively supervise and manage the department and meet goals and standards.
3. Valid driver's license for operation of company vehicles.
4. Commercial certification for purchasing pesticides preferred
