Job Description: Laundry Attendant

Department: Housekeeping

Supervisor: General Manager

General Description

• Perform housekeeping/laundry duties in assigned areas.
• Maintain a sanitary, attractive and orderly Laundry area
• Requires operation of mechanical equipment such as washers/dryers and vacuum cleaners.
• Includes a variety of duties that include sweeping, mopping, waste removal, folding linen, cleaning stained linen, cleaning dryer lint baskets and moving bins of clean linen to appropriate storage closets.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Good physical and mental health and evidence of maturity.
• Must have skills in working cooperatively with other staff.
• Express concern for detail cleaning.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Neat appearance and pleasant personality.
• Must have patience and tact, and ability to interact with staff and guests in a pleasant manner.

Working Conditions

• Well-lighted, well-ventilated facility.
• Interacting with the housekeeping staff, front desk staff and guests.
• Frequently changing conditions in which one must be attentive and able to respond appropriately.

Duties

• Specific duties are assigned at the discretion of the department supervisor or facility administrator and may be adjusted to meet the needs of the Hoteland the expertise of personnel available.

Housekeeping

• Follow established cleaning methods
• Continual inspection for possible hazards.
• Keep all floors free of debris and fluids.
• Reports status at shift end to immediate supervisor.
• Perform periodic and situational duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
• Reports broken, damaged or inoperative equipment, lights or furnishings to immediate supervisor and completes an MR request

Laundry

• Load washers within acceptable weight limits.
• Remove linens from washers and transport with baskets to dryers.
• Load dryers within acceptable weight limits.
• Transport dried linens to the folding table using baskets.
• Fold 7; fill shelves with sheets, towels, and washcloths, etc.
• Pillow Cases to be hung on large basket , separated by sizes until folded in sets of 2.

In-Service Education

• Complete all IGH Brand required CBL modules

Responsibilities

• Understand and abide by established policies of the facility
• Maintain confidentiality of information; maintain a professional demeanor.
• Account for use of time, report sickness, and plan vacation and holiday time with department supervisor or administrator.
• Prepare all required reports and submit to department supervisor or administrator.
• Other specific duties as assigned by department supervisor or administrator.
