Lathe Operator - 2Nd Shift

Syndeo Staffing has a direct hire opportunity for a CNC Lathe Operator on 2nd Shift.

Position summary:

The CNC Lathe operator will be responsible for setup and operation of CNC Lathe machine(s).

Essential functions:

• Operates Lathe machine(s) in a safe manner
• Maintain assigned machine(s) in valid working condition and report any machine malfunction to the maintenance manager
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area
• Review blueprints, specifications, tolerances and estimated hours of assigned operation
• Read and understand shop floor paperwork
• Utilize software to clock in and out of jobs to ensure accurate job cost reporting
• Produce quality product and understand what qualifies as a quality part
• Complete daily cleaning of machine
• Participate in tier 1 meetings with supervisor
• Able to measure accurately with calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers, inside micrometers, depth gauge, and measuring threads over wires
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Can stand stand for up to 12 hours
• Operator should be self-sufficient in the set up and operation of CNC Lathe machines

Education: High school education or GED equivalent

Experience required:

• 3+ years' experience as a Lathe Machinist
• Knowledge of blueprints and lathe machines
• Mechanical/technical aptitude
• Ability to problem solve
