The Late Night Youth Care Worker is responsible for providing direct supervision, support and direction to children and adolescents in a compassionate and respectful manner during overnight hours. This includes requiring an unwavering commitment to the safety of all Unaccompanied Children (UC) and being aware of all ongoing developments and concerns, on a daily basis, of all UC in their care. The Late Night Youth Care Worker is responsible for building professional and trusting relationships with the UC in order to maintain a positive and healthy milieu on the shelter unit. The Late Night Youth Care Worker is also responsible to meet all regulatory and policy requirements for documentation, the safety of the physical environment, and any other requirement asked by Program Leadership.
Competencies:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Higher education and experience working with children preferred.
Must possess basic personal computer knowledge and skills.
The candidate must possess, exhibit and maintain competency in dealing with children.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Must pass a Criminal Record History Clearance and a Child Abuse History Clearance which are processed by KidsPeace as well as possess a valid Driver's License.
Must pass a Physical & Drug Screening & possess the ability to attend and successfully complete all KidsPeace sponsored training. EOE
