Summary of Position:
On-site and remote technical service support liaison, resulting in positive customer relations, experience, and satisfaction of users, owners, OEMs, and dealers of Mercury Marine products. This position specializes in Large Vessel systems installation, troubleshooting, electronic integration, and developing partners for ultimate customer satisfaction. This position reports to a Regional Service Manager. This role will be responsible for the Northwest region of the United States. 90% of travel will be within Washington . We do need someone who lives within the region.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite support of Mercury and Brunswick products as they relate to vessels, integrated controls, network-worked vessel systems, and emerging products to the field.
- Provide internal staff, dealers, and boat builders of North America support with new installations and the repowering of Large Vessels to ensure proper installation and boat application.
- Facilitate clear written and verbal data and communication to internal groups as required.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve product installation, setup, configuration, malfunctions, errors & issues.
- Perform other duties and various tasks as assigned by the RSM (Regional Service Manager).
- Regional management and support responsibilities for:
- Specialty technical product training of Service Field Staff.
- Provide in-field support to Mercury Legal department for product liability, product failure lawsuits, including onsite inspections, depositions, and to participate as a witness.
- Face to face interaction with consumers to answer their product questions and resolve issues.
- Participate and assist other Mercury divisions with special events, activities and business opportunities as required.
- Act and assist alongside territory field staff as a lead for duties listed above.
Basic Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of Mercury products.
- Thorough knowledge of Large Vessel systems, with strong electrical background.
- Full understanding of customer service philosophy and procedures of the company.
- Effectively plan, develop, execute strategies for issue resolution, installation, and integration in the field. Willingness to live and travel (75% - 90%) within Northwest LVSS region.
- Occasional multi-week travel events outside of region may be required.
- Ability to work independently, make accurate decisions and analyze risk.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to deal with Customers, Brokers, OEMs, and Dealers.
- Meticulous data gathering capabilities.
- Excellent Computer and technology skills, capitalizing on effective communication and documentation through digital media. Five or more years in a marine service-related capacity.
- Diverse advanced marine Mechanical/ Electrical background.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Associate degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8 or more years in marine service-related capacity.
The annual salary range for this position is $97,000 to $107,000. The range represents the full pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position is situated. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide variety of factors, including a candidate’s skills, competencies and experience.
