Description
Position: This is a part-time (50% time), permanent, Health Services Consultant 4 (HSC4) position.
Division: Health Services Quality Assurance

Location: Tumwater, WA (flexible/hybrid)

We are seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a Regional EMS& Trauma Council Support Specialist. This role will be pivotal in providing technical consulting and planning assistance to EMS and Trauma Regional Councils, licensed EMS services, and EMS stakeholder groups, aiming to establish and sustain regional systems of care. You will play a crucial role in develop0ing and delivering education for Regional EMS & Trauma Care Councils, as well as guiding the formulation and implementation of new or amended patient care procedures at a statewide level.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing technical assistance and support as a senior health care consultant with expertise in EMS & Trauma systems planning, development, and implementation for the EMS & Trauma Care (EMSTC) Regions.
  • Facilitating the process for requests for changes in the minimum/maximum number of emergency care resources in regional EMS & Trauma Care plans.
  • Facilitating the process for development, reconciling, and updating patient care procedures in regional EMS & Trauma Care plans.

Essential Requirements & Qualifications
Note: Experience defined below may have been gained through paid or unpaid activities. Please ensure any relevant experience defined below is outlined in your cover letter, resume, and/or applicant profile.
  • Option 1: Four (4) or more years in in public health, healthcare, public administration, emergency preparedness or health care (e.g., EMS, nursing etc.)

  • Option 2: A bachelor's degree or higher with a focus in public health, health care administration, public administration, emergency preparedness, or health care (e.g., EMS, nursing etc.)

AND (for BOTH of the above options) the following:
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in emergency medical services field, emergency preparedness, health systems administration.
  • Demonstrated experience developing education materials.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and administering programs and processes.
  • Experience with the following:
    1. Using word processing software, such as such as Microsoft Word, to create, format, edit, preview, print, and save documents.
    2. Producing spreadsheets in Excel including budgets and develop presentations using a variety of presentation platforms such as Camtasia or Power Point.
    3. Composing, sending, and responding to electronic mail; using e-mail program functions such as calendars and meeting requests.
    4. Navigating the internet to find and download information.

Desired Skills & Preferred Experience
  • Knowledge in rural, urban, and suburban planning and design.
  • A master's degree or higher in a health care related field.

Work Location & Flexibility
The employee may be located anywhere within the State of Washington. Telework (mobile work) is currently expected. When approved, the incumbent will work with their supervisor to identify an appropriate work schedule and balance including telework and reporting to the Tumwater, WA duty station for work activities as needed. Extensive travel is required, which is typically local or regional within the state, to meet with clients, conduct business, or attend/provide training.
