Job Description
Pioneer Land Surveying, based in Sylva, North Carolina, is currently seeking a Field Crew Member to perform work in Macon, Swain, Jackson & Haywood Counties. North Carolina Driver’s license is required.
The successful candidate will work alongside the Crew Chief:
Responsibilities:
- Conduct field measurements
- Construction stakeouts, Boundary surveys, and topographic and tree surveys
- Assist the survey team by gathering and maintaining specific data for Land Surveying including adjusting and operating surveying instruments.
- Employees must also maintain equipment and vehicles used by the surveying crew.
- Perform manual labor such as cutting brush for lines, carrying stakes, setting stakeout points, operating small rock drill, etc.
Work is performed in the field 90 percent of the time!
- Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds as needed.
- The employee must be able to work outside and traverse on mountain and wooded terrain, often steep ground in all weather conditions.
Qulifications:
- adaptability, attention to detail, dependability, initiative, safety, team player, positive attitude, job focused learning, work well with others in a small team environment.
- Associate's Degree preferred Field of Study: Land Surveying, construction, forestry or similar degree type or relevant experience.
- Willing to train the right candidate.
- Must have your own reliable transportation and the ability to commute to our location in Sylva and be in person on time.
Job location: Sylva, North Carolina. Must be able to meet crew by 8:00am to start work day.
