Job Description
Position Summary
This position report to the Dispatch Supervisor and coordinates deliveries and pick-ups according to customer requirements while ensuring compliance to DOT regulations and established internal policies and guidelines.
Essential Responsibilities
- Route, check-in, and dispatch drivers for deliveries and pick-ups
- Prioritize time sensitive cargo
- Notify drivers of deliveries and pick-up assignments
- Receive, input, and distribute On Demand work orders, proof of deliveries (PODs), and manifests, and prepare reports as required by management.
- Communicate status updates as needed to/from operations team
- Ensure efficient turnaround time for loads to minimalize driver down time and increase productivity.
- Reduce/eliminate cost exposure due to reduce dentition, storage and per diem charges.
- Assist drivers troubleshoot when necessary.
- Ensure drivers have collected all appropriate documentation and signatures related to deliveries and pick-ups.
- Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.
- Determine response needed to effectively and appropriately deal with emergencies, accidents, and breakdowns.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- One (1) year experience in dispatch
- One (1) year of experience of transportation
- Bi-Lingual a plus
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong team building and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing information quickly
- Ability to keep tight deadlines
