Form of workMeta is seeking an experienced Label Business Development Manager who is passionate about the changing music ecosystem, technology and supporting our goal of connecting people through social media, the mobile ecosystem and business strategy. This role will support Meta’s strategy and negotiations with music labels (both majors and independents), as well as collaborate with our Product and Media Partnerships teams to ensure a coordinated and best in class licensing structure.
- Partner on label licensing strategy and conduct negotiations with music labels around the world, including playing a lead role in major and independent label negotiations.
- Build deep partner relationships and represent the Meta organization in meetings with music industry executives from other companies.
- Be a source of insights on the music ecosystem and partner cross-functionally with Meta executives.
- Play a lead role in strategic and foundational initiatives that support music and music products at Meta.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years experience working in a Business Development or digital music negotiation equivalent function.
- BA/BS Degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in leadership and deal experience in music licensing for global organizations
- Experience in commercial leadership with Business Development and operational experience with technology companies
- Music industry experience, including understanding of web and mobile technologies impact on content distribution both in U.S. and globally
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally and building consensus among multiple stakeholders in an entrepreneurial, high-expectation environment
- Scrappy, resourceful, action and detail-oriented, with a high ownership mindset to deliver measurable impact
- Excellent communication skills
- MBA or JD
