$24 Hourly
Description:
Performs quality inspection and testing of raw materials and outgoing finished products, completing all necessary administrative, control, and compliance requirements.
Responsible for raw material, in-process and finished good testing.
Ensures that appropriate test methods are followed, and measurements are performed accurately.
Maintains retain system for raw materials and finished goods.
Accurately records the results of all testing and determines whether results are within acceptable specification limits.
Makes determination to conditionally approve, rework or reject materials not meeting specification.
Issues Rejection Form and Material Disposition Request (MDR).
Conducts bench experiments as directed by the QC Supervisor.
Prepares required documents (MSDS/COA/Spec Sheet) and responds to internal and external requests for documentation in a timely manner.
Responsible for all equipment and ensures proper working condition by performing preventive maintenance, calibration and verification
Maintains a clean and safe working area and follows safety practices including the use of safety glasses, gloves, etc
Works with Perfumery and Purchasing Departments to evaluate samples from potential new raw material suppliers
Assists in the Customer Complaint Process: logging, investigation and development of corrective actions.
Writes Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
Assists Quality Manager with internal audits.
Qualifications:
Associates degree preferred in Chemistry or related Science
Ability to operate analytical equipment
Good olfactive sense.
1-2 years lab experience; QC experience in a fragrance environment preferred
Strong math and computer skills
Attention to details, ability to follow-through, observant, accuracy in weights and measures

Technical Certification Bonus:
Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
