Job Summary and Purpose:
The Lab Technician II provides support in the manufacture of synthetic RNA vaccines through performance in making RNA to filling of final product and diluent.
Responsibilities and Key Duties:
Prepare solutions and equipment
Produce upstream bulk/antigen in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP's)
Conduct filling of vaccine and diluent
Run label line for labeling vaccine
Maintain inventory of supplies physically and in JDE
Launch work orders in JDE for solutions and batch records, as needed
Cleaning of laboratories and equipment
Perform duties in accordance with standard operating procedures
Assist in the transfer, as needed, of the SRV platform to the Ceva Verona location.
Assist in the maintenance of the SRV procedures, batch records, and assist in implementation of new or improved processes as needed.
Accurately complete all necessary documentation in accordance with good documentation practices
Train junior staff, as needed
Additional duties as assigned

Technical / Functional Competencies:
Strong mathematical aptitude
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work overtime as needed
Knowledge and practice of aseptic technique and clean room behavior
Knowledge of Microsoft office
Follow all relevant department policies, procedures, SOPs, and other requirements during project execution
Qualifications:
Education -
Bachelor's degree in a biological science field (i.e. microbiology, virology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or immunology) required
Work Experience -
Two or more years of laboratory experience required, or a combination of education and experience
Experience working in aseptic production environments required
Experience in FDA or EU GMP regulated environment desired
Other (consider certifications, specialized knowledge and/or training, etc.) - A working knowledge of microbiology, molecular biology and/or biochemistry; additional experience in related areas of biologics production, quality control, quality assurance and/or research desired.
Physical Requirements:
Able to read, write legibly, and communicate in English
Standing for long periods of time
Frequent repetitions of bending, twisting, lifting arms above head, wrist and shoulder movements
Visual inspection
Dexterity: Frequent fine motor movement
Lifting up to 50 lbs
Daily dressing and operating in clean room required garments and PPE
Working Conditions:
Clean room manufacturing laboratory in dedicated and sterile full suit gowns, including face mask
