Role Summary:

Perform every aspect of lab operations and quality control and serve as a being the decision maker on issues affecting the lab.

What you'll do:

• Manage the laboratory inventory to include consumables, reagents, and standards.
• Oversee QA/QC on laboratory equipment and the quality of the standards.
• Oversee the reporting on proficiency samples, including ALP and NFTA.
• Manage all SOPs.
• Validate methods and ensure the most accurate data is obtained.
• Supervise laboratory technicians, including but not limited to assisting with hiring, scheduling, reviewing performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure instrument repairs and maintenance are up to date and operating efficiently.
• Approve timecards and employee time off requests.
• Point of contact in the lab and discuss any pertinent issues with the CEO.
• Train employees on operating instruments, the sample flow of the lab, and assist in training with admin/data entry responsibilities.
• Recruit for open positions, including phone screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
• Assist with customer relations and serve as the main contact for customers needing assistance.
• Assist in the operation of the LIMS program, including data entry, client setup, and reporting.
• Assist in directing employees when outsourcing samples to other labs.
• Assist in operating instruments/ specialty tests when needed.
• Manage sample flow/ turn around to meet Stanworth standards.
• Assist with responding to emails on technical questions.
• Manage contracts with vendors.
• Collect samples in the field, occasionally.

What you have:

• College 4-year bachelor's degree
• Demonstrated ability to work with a team/ good leadership quality.
• At least 2 to 3 years management of a laboratory
