Responsibilities
Oversees and reports on quality assurance activities, Assists with new instrument validations, implement and monitor point of care testing ensure the laboratory complies with regulatory agency requirements.
1. Recommends and Implements the Quality program
2. Develop and Implements Laboratory Quality reports for various committees; prepare reports on departmental safety and proficiency testing; prepare and/or route incident reports, coordinate and monitor departmental safety activities
3. Develop and coordinate activities associated with point-of-care testing programs throughout hospital and community emergency centers, to include evaluation of equipment, policy development and implementation, training, annual competency assessment of hospital staff, and quality control monitoring; perform semi-annual comparison studies and trouble shoots equipment
4. Assist with preparation for regulatory and accreditation biennial CAP inspection, coordinate follow-up for any deficiencies, assist with preparation for accreditation inspections
5. Plan and coordinate continuing education events for lab; prepare and lead new employee orientation program for lab
6. Coordinate and perform instrument validations
7. Prepare, implement, and initiate review of ""general"" laboratory policies and procedures, performing literature searches as needed, other research to ensure regulatory agency requirements are addressed and met
8. Perform required quality control procedures and Maintains records to ensure tests are being performed within satisfactory limits
9. Serve as the Safety Officer for the laboratory; coordinating fire extinguisher training and periodic departmental mock fire drills, reviewing injury reports and safety procedures
10. Prepare and monitor lab staff annual competencies
11. May be Responsible for the management of Proficiency testing program, and prepare and monitor lab staff annual competencies
Qualifications
Education:
*Bachelor's Degree
*Medical Technologist certification MT(ASCP), or MLS(ASCP), or AMT, or NCA
Experience:
*Three (3) years of relevant experience

Pay Range
$27.70 - $40.17 /hour
