Under the general direction of the Manager, Lab Services and within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, assist lab personnel with various functions such as cleaning and maintaining equipment, decontaminate and dispose of waste materials, decontaminate glassware and media and may perform other non-technical laboratory support functions. Responsibilities also include plating and specimen processing clinical specimens in the Microbiology lab. Some clerical duties and inventory management.
This position is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.- High school degree or equivalent.
- Certification as a Lab Assistant strongly preferred.
- Experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.
