```Overview```
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Knowledge Management Librarianto develop/oversee a plan to provide information sharing, develop plans for public information and long-term archival records. The contract through the Knowledge Management Office (KMO) in support of the Science & Technology Directorate in the Dept of Homeland Security deals with three levels of information: public, restricted and classified. As a Knowledge Management Librarian, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to capture, organize, and share knowledge within our organization. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for continuous improvement.

- Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Create instructional and training materials in relation to KMO resources and priorities.
  • Conduct training and utilization overviews of publication and data repositories in addition to knowledge exchange technologies for impact on deliverables and capability transitions to DHS customers.
  • Assist the KMO Director in best practice implementations and policy recommendations from the Public Access Advisory Group (PAAG) and other KMO led groups.
  • Support the development, implementation, and enculturation of the organizational Knowledge Management framework, strategy, policies, process, and procedures.
  • Conducts KMO-based research of library resources, plus information and data coming from DHS research outputs to create curated matrices and lists.
  • In collaboration with the DHS Library, creates Library Guides for KMO-specific resources and services by highlighting internal and subscription-based resources needed by KMO customers.
  • When needed attends various information-science and library focused meetings with OSTP and other collection specific groups.
  • Consults with KMO Director on all information science and library-based initiatives and projects.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS and 8–10 years of relevant experience or MA/MS and 5+ years in related field (e.g., Knowledge Management, Information Systems)
  • Active Secret Clearance required, TS preferred

Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:

  • Knowledge management: Strong understanding of Knowledge Management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Visio: Proficiency in using Visio or similar software to create process flowcharts and diagrams.
  • Business requirements: Ability to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for Knowledge Management systems.
  • Vaticinate: Experience with vaticinate software or similar tools for predictive analytics.
  • UXPin: Familiarity with UXPin or other prototyping tools for designing user-friendly interfaces.
  • Metadata: Knowledge of metadata standards and their application in organizing information.
  • Usability: Understanding of usability principles to ensure effective user experiences.
  • Scripting: Basic scripting skills to automate tasks or customize Knowledge Management systems.
  • Omniture: Experience with Omniture or other web analytics tools for tracking user engagement.
