Kitchen Utility Worker

Sky Active Living is seeking a Cook/Kitchen Utility Worker for our Madison Estate community!

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Schedule Hours to be determined.

· Provide exceptional personal care

· Make meals that are appetizing, cleanly presented and based on a predetermined nutritional menu

· Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen

· Engage residents in a multitude of activities and social interaction

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• MUST have a big heart and be willing to work in an Independant Living setting
• Ability to Lift 50lbs
• Transportation (Must have a car)
• Open Availability/ Flexibility
• must have food handler's certificate

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

· Basic Cooking Skills, including able to identify common cooking terms (frying, roasting, baking, cream, thicken, mix, finely chop, etc.), know common measurements (tsp. versus tablespoon), demonstrate safe cooking temperatures, and menu and recipe reading comprehension.

· Current food safety manager's card

· People person - must be comfortable interacting with residents, family members and other Sky Active Living staff members

· Leadership - (the kitchen is the social hub of the community)

· Proactive thinking (exploring other options based on resident's needs)

· Problem Solving

· Personal Development

This full-time position can also include some evenings and holidays. All offers of employment with Sky Active Living are contingent upon a satisfactory background and drug screening.
