Duties and Responsibilities
- Relate to students in an age-appropriate manner while creating a safe, supportive, mutually respectful classroom community which values the distinct contributions, background, and abilities of each child
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop, plan, and implement literacy support instructional plans
- Provide exceptional academic instruction focused on meeting the needs of diverse learners consistent with current evidence-based educational practices
- Work with students individually and in small group instruction to inspire and help children develop to their full potential
- Maintain records on students for the purpose of directing further instruction, evaluating and reporting students' progress
- Make recommendations regarding student evaluations and progress to determine continuation in the literacy support program
- Communicate students' progress to classroom teachers and parents.
- Assist in scheduling and administering tests to determine qualifying candidates for the literacy support program.
- Attend faculty and staff meetings and professional day opportunities
- Support rules of conduct and discipline and suitable learning environment in the classroom and during recess
- Participate in Admission team work
Requirements
- Teaching experience, preferably at least 3 years, and preferably in early childhood
- Effective and supportive communication skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple and ongoing tasks
- Ability to interpret and communicate assessment and evaluation results
- Bachelor Degree required, Masters Degree preferable

The pay range for the position is $55,000-$75,000. Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any discrepancies that may exist do not relate to sex.
