Description 

Juvenile Justice Clinical Specialist

The Juvenile Justice Clinical Specialist functions as part of a core treatment team to provide treatment and support to youth in the Juvenile Justice system.  In this role, you will work in collaboration with a core team comprised of a therapist, continuity of care provider, and specialized probation officer.  You will meet with the youth and their family two-four times weekly and provide a method of comprehensive review and evaluation of both mental health and criminal justice history to determine the least restrictive and clinically beneficial treatment disposition. Once a month, you will be on 24-hour call one week to assist youth and families in crisis.  In this role, you are required to provide coordination, advocacy, interaction, and cooperation with other departments both externally and internally.  As a Juvenile Justice Clinical Specialist, you will impact youth, families, and our community by providing treatment and support to assist youth in the Juvenile Justice system with recovery and hope.

Minimum qualifications: Master's Degree in Health and Human Services field of Applied Behavior Analysis - Child Development - Counseling - Early Childhood Education - Early Childhood Intervention - Education Psychology - Gerontology - Human Growth and Development - Medicine - Nursing - Physician Assistant - Psychology - Registered Nurse - Rehabilitation & Rehab Studies - Social Work - Sociology - or Special Education. In lieu of degree listed above, Master's Degree in another Social, Behavioral, or Human Services field AND completion of Bachelor's Degree in an approved degree listed above OR another area with college level coursework equivalent to requirements for Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) credential. (QMHP certification earned on the job.)   Two years' of experience required in a Social, Behavioral, or Health & Human Services related field. Current Texas licensure as an LPC-A, LMSW, LMFT-A, LPC, LCSW, LMFT and/or training or practitioner in Trust-Based Relationship Intervention preferred.  Spanish-speaking a plus.

 

Carry and lifting requirements 15-25 pounds.
