JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to a Court Administrator, the Juvenile Case Manager supports the Justice of the Peace Court in all aspects of juvenile case management and administration of programs conducted to address truancy and Class C criminal and traffic cases regarding juveniles.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
  • Serves as Coordinator and Facilitator for juvenile programs
  • Maintains program(s) sponsorship and oversees fund disbursement
  • Schedules and prepares juvenile hearings and supporting legal documents, including summons, writs, warrants, subpoenas and driver license suspensions
  • Monitors juvenile cases and compliance of court orders
  • Performs home and school visits; meets with and provides support to juveniles
  • Communicates with juveniles, parents, school personnel and multiple state, county, local and private agencies
  • Attends community meetings and events and performs research on available support groups and resources
  • Utilizes legal source materials to research relevant juvenile traffic, truancy and criminal law
  • Serves as courtroom clerk for juvenile cases
  • Data entry related to juvenile cases
  • Prepares monthly reports
  • Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
  • Performs special duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, repetitive motions, and standing
  • Position involves occasional lifting and carrying of up to fifty (50) pounds and exertion of up to twenty-five (25) pounds of force to move objects

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
  • Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environment
  • Regular travel between work sites as required

IRREGULAR HOURS
  • Work outside of regular office hours (Monday-Friday) may be required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of related experience working with juveniles and/or families
  • Working knowledge of specific job-related technology
  • Possess and maintain a clear criminal history background check
  • Possess and maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record
  • Possess a valid driver's license and current liability insurance by date of hire

  • Valid driver's license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Five (5) years of related experience working with juveniles and/or families (Counseling, Human Services or Social Work)
  • Bilingual Spanish
