Junior Software Test Engineer (Hybrid)

Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services BGS, is seeking a Junior Software Test Engineerin Maryland Heights, MO. This role will join the Test Team of the F-15/T-38 Mission Planning Organization to ensure the delivery of quality products to the United States Air Force (USAF) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers. The role will also be an integral part of the migration to the next generation mission planning system over the next five years. Specifically, test driven development and the introduction of automated testing.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Execute and maintain test procedures and test cases for new and existing products
  • Performs test in accordance with approved test plan/procedure and applicable policies
  • Report and manage defects
  • Regression test software fixes for new and existing products
  • Participate in Requirements and Functional Specifications reviews of new features and verify these requirements are reflected in the test specifications
  • Document, troubleshoot and follow up on issues found during testing
  • Actively work with other members of the team to constantly improve the process, tools and effectiveness of the team
  • Assist Development with replicating and debugging problems

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience developing and maintaining Software Test documentation
  • Experience with test and validate to ensure software meets operational and functional requirements
  • Experience with test or system integration

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with software configuration management tools such as Team Foundation Server/Azure DevOps
  • Experience writing and analyzing test procedures and software requirements
  • Automated test experience
  • Experience with OFP (Operational Flight Program) SIL (System Integration Lab) testing

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
