Junior Network Engineer

We are currently seeking a Junior Network Engineer to join our team at West Point Military Academy. The Junior Networking Engineer's responsibilities include planning, designing, and evaluation of products, as well as collaboration with production management. Core duties of this position involve design and implementation options, documenting the security controls and testing of those controls, and helping the client emplace continuous monitoring capabilities for configuration, operations, and security of the enterprise infrastructure.

Schedule will be 3:30PM - 12AM Monday-Friday

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent on-the-job experience (3 years).

Professional level of networking certification or equivalent work experience (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Professional CCNP).

Advanced knowledge and experience with:

• IPS, IDS, URL Filtering.
• network security.
• remote access.
• site-to-site VPN.
• IPSEC & SSL VPN.
• remote authentication software.
• external DNS and internet proxy.

In-depth knowledge of network design and operations for heterogeneous wired and wireless enclaves with multiple security zones and data sensitivity.

Ports, Protocols, and Service Management (PPSM) for production, development, and COOP environments.

Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.

Collaborating with network architects and operations teams for network optimization and security.

LAN Knowledge, proxy servers, Networking Design and Implementation, Network Troubleshooting, Network Hardware Configuration, and Network Performance Tuning.

Understanding of the organizational security standards for operating configurations, security constraints, and procedures for managing organization software.

Incorporating Document imaging systems/Multifunction Devices (MFDs) into network enclaves.

Content, Helpdesk, Ticketing, Workflow, and Knowledge Management tools and applications.
