Job Description:
This is a junior level IT-professional position to help keep computer systems running smoothly. You will work with more senior members of the team to install and maintain software, hardware, and other digital tools used by the bank.
You may also be responsible for monitoring the performance of various computer systems within the bank. This includes ensuring that all hardware is functioning properly, identifying any potential security threats, and resolving any issues that arise as quickly as possible.
Job Duties can include:
- First point of contact for IT helpdesk requests
- Monitoring network performance to ensure that there are no bottlenecks or errors that could impact productivity
- Installing operating systems on computers, testing them for errors, and backing them up regularly
- Maintaining computer equipment by replacing or upgrading components as needed
- Installing patches to fix security vulnerabilities in computer systems
- Configuring new systems for installation based on new hire requests, etc.
- Installing and maintaining computer networks, including printers and other peripherals
- Troubleshooting problems with existing systems and implementing solutions to fix them
- Monitoring server performance and capacity to ensure that it meets needs
- Document and update installation, configuration, deployment and maintenance procedures
- Provide after-hours on-call emergency support as needed
- Adhere to standardized workflow and processes
- Participate in special projects as assigned
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of technical support experience
- Live in Knoxville, TN or surrounding areas
- Possess a valid Driver License
- Possess at a minimum A+ and/or Network+ and willing to work on additional certs in the future for Security+, MCITP, and/or Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certifications
- Willing to travel to bank’s retail sites on occasion
- Familiar with a range of software and hardware
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
