Role Definition
- Maintaining, upgrading, and managing software, hardware, and networks. This position aims to ensure that our IS infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently to support customers and internal technology requirements globally.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the infrastructure of IT systems that support the business to function efficiently.
- Design solutions by assessing and aligning the current systems to best practices and comply to Caterpillar policies and procedures and IT general controls.
- Administer networks and automated workflow tools work with server virtualization technologies.
- Administer updates, upgrades, and other maintenance tasks in both hardware and software areas, to make the network more efficient, cost-effective, and secure.
Job Requirements
- Ability to provide expertise in a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
- Knowledge of effective advisory methods and ability to provide valued information and advice to clients regarding products, technologies, services and solutions for a specific technology domain.
- Expert knowledge of computer architecture and systems programming with an ability to design, build and integrate IT hardware into multi-platforms for the organization.
- Implement the use of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or network infrastructure project.
- Knowledge of system and software testing to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of network infrastructure at all stages of the system life cycle.
- Previous experience in working with network architecture and platforms to design and build a fundamental architecture of networks.
- Strong ability to apply technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on networks, hardware, software or operation.
- Able to perform technical writing to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines or documents on standards, processes and applications.
Desired Technical Experience:
- Cisco ACI experience
- Data Center Network
- Cisco IOS XE & Cisco NX-OS
- Proficient with Python, Bash or other types of programming language like Go, Ruby, Perl, JAVA, Rust, C, C++
- Automation framework like Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Salt
- Cisco Certified Network Associate
- WCNA Certified
- Load Balancing
Degree Requirement
A 4-year college or university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study.
Additional Information:
- This role is a hybrid position and would require any successful candidate to commit to a minimum of 3 day per week in office requirement
