Position Summary:
As anJunior NDT Technician, you will work with a safety-first team to job shadow and assist the Level II NDT Technician on job sites to learn all aspects of the services IAG offers. This is an entry-level position intended to provide a career path into the NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) industry. This position can be physically demanding and involves working in a typically outdoor construction environment.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assists with inspection execution and tasks related the inspection which may include but is not limited to supplying or using tools or materials, organizing and cleaning a work area, reporting of services provided, preparing paperwork, setting up boundaries and surveillance of work area, etc,
- Observes test procedures and product compliance to learn internal and industry specifications.
- Observe and learn the procedures required to perform work and gain certification in the required NDT methods.
- Observe and learn proper documentation process required for NDT testing.
- Follow and enforce the Company required safe work practices and procedures at all times.
- Actively participates in JSA and uses all necessary steps to complete tasks safely and ensures the safety of others working in the area.
- Communicates with all levels of management and crew to effectively present any needs and changes.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability and interest to become a level II certified Technician in multiple NDT methods.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to adhere to a written method or procedure.
- Confidence to STOP work when a problem is immediately identified.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, preferred.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products, preferred.
- Basic knowledge and understanding inspection technology, preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Management Responsibilities:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
