Job Summary:The incumbent manages a competitive Division I Softball program that adheres to all University, SWAC and NCAA rules and regulations while providing a safe and accepting environment for student – athletes to grow and develop academically, athletically and one that encourages personal responsibility, sportsmanship and service to others.

Ability to recruit effectively
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a diverse community
Assigns Assistant Coaches and/or graduate students in the overall planning and execution of the intercollegiate Softball program
Recruits quality prospective student-athletes and ensures timely submission of their academic records for admissions
Monitors academic progress and status of team members, implementing action plans through appropriate staff when needed
Monitors and maintains the discipline and conduct of student athletes to support the image and reputation of the athletics program
Plans coaching and practice sessions in accordance with NCAA and SWAC regulations
Develops and implements game strategy and position assignments
Oversees the strength and condition program for student athletes
Manages all operational, fiscal, and administrative activities for the Softball program
Promotes the athletic program and specific sport through community events, public speaking, fundraising and marketing
Ensures adherence to all Association, Conference and University rules by athletes and support staff
Other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
