OverviewJob Location: Full-time remote however candidates must be local to the DMV area for possible in-person meetings.
The Junior Level Human Resources Specialist will provide a variety of military and civilian personnel activities, serving as a clerical expert in independently processing the most complicated types of personnel actions e.g. administrative separation of a military service member from active duty.
Responsibilities- Organize, maintain, and review personnel records, entering and retrieving personnel information using computers, and preparing organizational charts, writing official correspondence, and preparing reports.
- Identifies and coordinates advocacy on behalf of a Soldier or their Family members in a particular subject area, (e.g., credit counseling-related negotiation).
- Provide information about personnel programs and procedures.
- Receives clients visiting or telephoning to determine type of assistance needed.
- Provides information requested or refer the client to appropriate military or community resource.
- Interacts with customers in compliance with professional and military customs and courtesies.
- Maintains resource database on all local military and community social services.
- Answer inquiries from service members, retirees, veterans and their families about entitlements earned as a result of military service. Inquiries are to be answered and refer to the Benefits Library at the MyArmyBenefits or MyAirForce Benefits websites. Complex questions that require detailed research will be promptly elevated to a Benefit Subject Matter Expert.
- Answer calls and emails to the helpdesk, documents the call in a customer relationship management (CRM) program, and provides researched, documented answers to callers and or anyone requesting military benefits questions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience.
- Must be able to work self-sufficiently and productively in a full-time remote environment.
- Experience with MyArmyBenefits and/or MyAirForceBenefits a plus.
