POSITION: History/Social Studies Teacher

SPECIFICS:
- 10-month, Full Time, 1.0 FTE,
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of BS/BA degree in Education
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate - with appropriate endorsement(s)
- Must be Highly Qualified in one or more of the following: History 6 - 12 (CC) and Social Studies 6 -12 (RX)
- Strong pedagogical knowledge and content expertise
- Demonstrates teaching and leadership skills, as well as strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledgeable and/or understanding in the use of data to monitor student growth, inform instruction, and develop interventions
- Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues, including the ability to create and nurture a professional community of adult learners
- Models continual improvement, demonstrates lifelong learning, and applies new learning to help all students achieve
RESPONSIBLILITIES:
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.
- Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
- Provide grades and administer assessments timely.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Provide on-going communication to parents on student progress and classroom activities.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.
- Practice proper classroom management techniques.
- Engage students in learning process, differentiate as needed.
- Other duties as directed.
