Job Summary
The Junior Financial Accountant assists in timely financial closings, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other projects as directed by the Financial Controller's team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Prepare financial workpapers
- Prepare and record journal entries
- Assist in data entry for accounts payable and receivables
- Analyze general ledger accounts
- Research and prepare applications for state and license registrations
- Assistance with contract work-in-progress schedules
- Assist with resolving financial flow and issues from the estimating and construction departments
- Assist with payroll imports for job costing purposes
- Assist with financial software implementation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or finance
- One year or more of accounting experience is a plus
- Excellent communication and organization, follow-through, and follow-ups, meet commitments and deadlines
- Solid computer skills. Must enjoy spending time with spreadsheets
- Detail-oriented and results-oriented, while providing support to the team and other processes
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to set priorities
- Ability to effectively interface with all departments of the company in a highly professional manner
- Adaptability to changing demands
Computer Systems
- Excellent computer literacy including experience with Microsoft Office productapplications (ex.Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Proficiency in business software application Timberline
Salary Information
- To the extent this position is performed in New York, the annual salary range for this role is $65,000 - 80,000.
