Junior Financial Analyst
12 month contract
NYC - This is a Hybrid Role - Onsite 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday)
Client is seeking an Entry Level Financial Analyst. In this role, you will be a key point of contact for brokers, handling quote requests, addressing general Structured Settlement inquiries, and providing support for unique case-based solutions. You'll collaborate with various departments, including medical underwriting, sales, new business, operations, and Financial Controls units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to broker requests for pricing commitments promptly and accurately.
- Adjust quotes to reflect changes in premium or benefit amounts, using creative solutions where necessary.
- Perform financial underwriting for quotes outside of guidelines or daily requests, following product guidelines.
- Act as a liaison between brokers and internal departments (Sales, Medical Underwriting, Administration).
- Develop daily pricing rates from Bloomberg data and maintain an Excel database.
- Ensure compliance with audit and review requirements and timeframes.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
- Bachelor's degree and/or 2+ years of experience in a high-volume, high-producing environment.
- 1-3 years of office-based experience in finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access.
- Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and delivering high volumes of quotes within tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interactions with brokers, lawyers, plaintiffs, and other stakeholders.
- Good understanding of the theory of interest and present value calculations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team to meet service standards in terms of deadlines and accuracy.
