Junior Attorney

Our law firm is looking for the next associate attorney to assist in providing legal counsel to our clients. You will work closely with our senior partners and associates, conduct legal research, draft documents, and maintain client files. $65,000 - $90,000 plus bonuses

Responsibilities:

• Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice
• Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
• Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
• Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
• Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations

• Responsible for the competent provision of legal services including legal research; drafting motions, pleadings, orders, judgments, and status updates; and overseeing and analyzing discovery
• Manage the full discovery process including strategies for the overall success of cases

Qualifications:

• Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
• Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients
• Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA)
• Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
• Candidates must have passed the bar exam

• Licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar
• Effective and clear communicator
• Must be able to track and meet minimum billable requirements
• Excellent and creative writer
• Knowledge of basic use of computers
• Proficiency with Word, Outlook, Dropbox, electronic legal research, and basic case management
• A positive attitude and perspective of seeing challenges as opportunities for growth
