Responsibilities of the Accounting Specialist:
- Budget Analysis: - Perform contract / budget reconciliation and modifications for assigned programs.
- Accounting & Reporting Functions: Prepare monthly expense invoice reports for assigned programs; related journal entries, monthly payroll journal entries and submission of monthly fiscal invoices to funding sources. Send monthly fiscal reports to program directors and update MOA investment spread sheet. Comply with all recordkeeping & documentation requirements. Assist in procuring documentations and tasks needed by auditors.
- Payroll Functions: Take turns with HR Administrator to prepare bi-weekly payroll. Stay up to date with all changes related to the payroll software changes and assist senior bookkeeper with payroll related tasks.
- Accounts payable Functions: Process vendor (fringe benefits) invoices and Agency’s program voucher requests for payments on a weekly basis. Assist with year-end 1099’s filings when necessary.
- Accounts Receivable Functions: Record all reimbursement/expense invoice sent to funding sources and corresponding payments from all funding sources.
- Report to CFO: Update CFO on status of all respective duties; assist other accounting staff and with other functions when required (to meet time constraints and deadlines); Contribute ideas to streamlining fiscal procedures and tasks.

Job Requirements for the Junior Accountant:
- BS or BA in Accounting. Continuing Education encouraged: Learn new skills and applications necessary for accounting functions currently being performed.
- MS Office experience highly preferred
- Excel (pivot tables, vlookup) MUST HAVE
- High attention to detail
- Great attitude

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
