PeopleTec is currently seeking a JIRA Help Desk Support to support our Huntsville, ALabama location.
We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team supporting Army Aviation and Missile Center (AVMC) as a JIRA Help Desk Support. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our JIRA environment, providing support to users, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Support ASC through the continuous development and maintenance of Atlassian JIRA.
- Create and sustain automation workflows, develop plugins to extend JIRA software, and enhance capabilities in JIRA Service Management and Confluence modules.
- Construct dashboards for add-ons as required.
- Configure custom fields, create and maintain present filters, and stay current with software upgrades and patches.
- Conduct testing to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of implemented configurations.
- Debug Atlassian-jira.log, Catalina log, and other relevant logs to identify issues.
- Provide recommendations and implement solutions to address identified problems.
- Review project implementations and proactively recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with project administrators, ensuring seamless project configuration migration across multiple environments while keeping them synchronized.
- Provide strategic recommendations for system enhancements and future releases.
- Establish metrics for reporting across the enterprise.
- Effectively manage workflows, track tasks, and enforce G6 processes to support continuous process improvement.
- Conduct capacity planning and performance testing and tuning to optimize system efficiency.
- Monitor and report system metrics for informed decision-making purposes.
- Administer JIRA instances, including user management, workflows, custom fields, preset filters, and permissions.
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades to ensure optimal system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand workflow requirements.
- Implement customizations in JIRA to align with the needs of various teams.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
- 5 years' experience in JIRA administration and support.
- Strong knowledge of Atlassian JIRA and Atlassian Confluence software.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Travel: 0-10%
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Desired Skills:
- Active Security+ CE Certification or equivalent preferred.
