Job description

Overview
Put your passion and skills to work for the planet. Climate change is the most urgent issue of our time, and we need people like you to help us build a vital Earth - for everyone.
We're Environmental Defense Fund, a fast-paced nonprofit with a growing staff of more than 1,000 people in nearly 30 countries. We deliver game-changing solutions that cut climate pollution and strengthen people's ability to thrive despite the effects climate change is already having. We work wherever we can have the most impact, from local communities to top companies to governments worldwide, and even in space.
Our culture, values and commitment to diversity make EDF an exciting and meaningful place to work. Every job here makes a difference. Won't you join us?
Responsibilities
Program/Department Overview
This intern will support EDF's interdisciplinary Global Clean Air Initiative. EDF's Global Clean Air initiative is committed to improving the public's health by dramatically reducing exposures to and health impacts of toxic chemicals and air pollution among communities and individuals that bear the greatest burden of exposure and/or health risk. By advancing scientific insights, policies, and market-based leadership and working with diverse partners and collaborators from companies, researchers, and community-based groups to government agencies and elected officials, we seek to make evident inequities in chemical- and pollution-related health impacts, and to develop, support and implement solutions that promote healthy communities and individuals.
EDF has long been a leader in reducing air pollution in the United States. Global Clean Air in the United States is working with a diverse network of researchers, companies, advocacy partners, and government officials to scale new air pollution monitoring and mapping technologies to advance our understanding of health impacts, and empower local actors to identify, advocate for, and implement clean air policies.
