RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Java Application Developer should be able to design, develop and/or re-engineer highly complex application components, and integrate software packages, programs, and reusable objects residing on multiple platforms. They must be able to learn new APIs, libraries, and programming frameworks quickly.
- Candidates must have experience with Agile development methodologies applied to bug fixing, software issue management, implementing minor enhancements, and patching and upgrades
- Experience with Java, JavaScript, jQuery and PostgreSQL is essential.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience creating and modifying Java applications
- Experience with Java applications on PostgresQL and frameworks like Spring and AngularJS 2 , plus configuration and tuning experience (Tomcat preferred)
- Experience using Hibernate for ORM
- Experience with Linux, specifically RHEL
- Ability to learn new APIs, libraries and programming frameworks quickly
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment, someone who "gets" Agile development and DevOps
- Ability to work in a team environment serving Federal government clients
- Experience using Jira for issue/ticket management
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of government IT requirements and standard operating procedures
- Knowledge of/experience using Bootstrap3, JQuery3, ElasticSearch, and Drupal
- Knowledge/experience of Node js
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience
