RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Java Developer's responsibilities will involve participating in the review and assessment of application enhancements and requirements, researching and implementing corrective action to resolve application problems; and working with clients to maintain and modify the code base so that it is in line with the current technology stack.
Candidates must have experience with Agile development methodologies applied to bug fixing, software issue management, implementing minor enhancements, and patching and upgrades
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- A minimum of 3 years experience creating and modifying Java applications specifically working with Java/J2EE and JavaScript (including the EXTJS javascript library, and the ICE plugin for TinyMCE)
- Linux and UNIX system knowledge, including shell scripts, and Telnet
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Extensive knowledge of XML technology, including but not limited to Data Type
- Excellent grammar and spelling in written communication
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent listening skills
- Ability to learn and contribute quickly to project requirements
- Ability to prioritize and organize personal and group efforts in a fast-paced environment
- Independent problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, creativity and a "helping others helps us all" personality
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience, four years of related work experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree
