Job Summary: Employee performs experienced Janitorial Services and manual work necessary to maintain facilities at various locations. Work is accomplished within established procedures for San Ysidro Border under the facilities contract. Assists supervising staff with Lead Janitor tasks assigned. - Assists with the supervision of enclaves and other JOI employees. Ensures all tasks are completed in Janitorial Facilities accordance with the requirements of the contract, maintaining quality control for all tasks performed.
- Assists with completing daily paperwork and keeping records current.
- Responsible for safe keeping of all required keys. Assists with ensuring proper maintenance and service of equipment/machinery including preventative maintenance.
- Assists with maintaining control of supplies to ensure accessibility of necessary items.
- Assists with maintaining complete and open communication with Management Team of any behavior or incidents that could be detrimental to the relationship between JOI and the customer or project goals.
- Distributes Safety Equipment as directed and maintains safety standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one of the three months related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Experience Required: To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed herein are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Skills Required: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to effectively speak, read, write and present information in English and in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employee of the organization. Ability to use Microsoft office, word, excel is preferred, but not required.
