Job Description
The Plan Compliance Associate will perform the duties and responsibilities for this position for clients and projects that are of low to medium complexity and technical difficulty. The associate's work product will be periodically subject to review by a Plan Compliance Sr. Associate or above. The associate will have client contact and will begin to develop working relationships with appropriate client personnel. This position reports to the Manager, Plan Compliance Services and is primarily responsible for providing technical and analytical services to ensure pension and profit sharing information is in compliance with plan documents and government regulations.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • You will coordinate information from clients to perform the ADP (Actual Deferral Percentage) /ACP (Actual Contribution Percentage) testing for all Plan Compliance clients and set up spreadsheets to do calculations for tests.
  • You will prepare and file the 5500 reporting for client plans to ensure compliance and minimize risk to the bank, working closely with clients to resolve questions and with auditors.
  • You will communicate and coordinate with clients regarding annual required minimum distributions while calculating minimum distributions as contracts require and request distributions from operations.
  • You will perform initial research on routine ERISA compliance issues before escalating to the Plan Administration Supervisor while properly documenting issues and resolutions.
  • You will determine participant eligibility for employer contributions.

Education & Experience Requirements
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Accounting and 2-3 years of experience in Trust Retirement Plan administration or 8-9 years of related experience in pension and/or profit sharing plan administration.
