Astrobotic Technology, Inc. is a space robotics company that seeks to make space accessible to the world. The company is also developing advanced space robotics capabilities such as terrain relative navigation, mobile robotics for lunar surface operations, and reliable computing systems for mission-critical applications. Originally spun out of Carnegie Mellon University in 2007, Astrobotic is pioneering affordable planetary access that promises to spark a new era of exploration, science, tourism, resource utilization, and mining. Astrobotic’s headquarters is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a second location in Mojave, California.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Configuration Manager / Item Data Master:
- Create and maintain Items (singular engineering parts and BOMs, etc.) in an ERP system, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance to Astrobotic configuration management standards and requirements.
- Perform reviews of Items to detect duplicate items.
- Update Items in ERP system based on approved change notices.
- Verify all required Item definition details have been completed in accordance with Astrobotic configuration management standards and requirements, prior to being submitted for Item data setup.
- Create and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs) in ERP system.
- Review and interpret Manufacturing BOMs and Engineering BOMs to determine consistency.
- Perform regular audits to ensure Item data accuracy and consistency.
- Work closely with engineering teams and quality to understand item requirements.
- Maintain BOM detail with effectivity, part revision, and alternate part management.
2. Inventory Coordinator:
- Maintain the Kanban consumables inventory, ensuring adequate stock to support engineering labs and manufacturing.
- Set up appropriate Kanban levels for different consumable based on usage.
- Collaborate with procurement and facilities to optimize inventory levels, minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Create purchase requisitions and ensure order placement when inventory levels go below the minimum.
- Assist in Inventory management strategies including Direct and Indirect materials.
3. Other Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain documentation related to Item Data management and Kanban consumables processes and procedures.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of the Item Data management & kanban consumables process as well as other processes related to this job function using feedback from teams.
- Support any additional tasks or responsibilities that may arise within the Materials team, including but not limited to receiving and shipping.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3-5 years Item Data, materials control, or related experience Experience with ERP data, BOM, Router creation and revisions
- Proven experience with configuration management principles, requirements, and criteria in an engineering/manufacturing industry application.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct business professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong skills in Excel, SharePoint/Teams, and Outlook
- Ability to work for prolonged periods on a computer.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and to respond to changing priorities.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with Deltek ERP system software
- Experience with TeamCenter software
- Experience with Jira software
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and the candidates professional experience. Base salary is just one component of Astrobotic’s competitive total rewards strategy.
