As a Cristek Systems Administrator, you’ll own the implementation and management of the server and client infrastructure that supports our manufacturing operations spanning 4 locations.
Joining our Information Technology team, you’ll help us ensure server environments that support our production operation are running efficiently by monitoring performance and performing maintenance tasks (upgrading, patching, troubleshooting, etc.). Additionally, you’ll be responsible for understanding functional requirements of the manufacturing organization and translating them into actionable deliverables for IT.
Key Responsibilities:
1. System Maintenance and Monitoring:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, hardware, and software systems.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal uptime.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as updates, patches, and backups.
2. Network Management:
- Manage and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs (Fortinet based).
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure data security.
3. User Support:
- Provide technical support to end-users, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Assist in setting up and configuring new user accounts and devices.
- Train employees on IT best practices and security protocols.
4. Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and access controls and compliance to NIST 800-171 and related DFARS as part of the DoD Industrial Base.
- Conduct regular security audits and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats and best practices.
5. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and user guides.
- Create and update IT policies and procedures.
6. Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with IT service providers, vendors, and suppliers.
- Procure hardware and software as needed, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
7. Disaster Recovery and Backup:
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and backup strategies.
- Test and validate backup and recovery procedures regularly.
8. Technology Evaluation:
- Stay current with emerging technologies and make recommendations for upgrades or enhancements.
- Evaluate and recommend software and hardware solutions to meet organizational needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred.
- 3+ years experience as an IT Systems Administrator or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Windows and Azure environments.
- Experience SAP Business One ERP and MS SQL server a plus.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, security, and firewall management.
- Strong familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., Nutanix, Hyper-V).
- Experience with cloud services (e.g., O365, Azure) is required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) are a plus.
