Description
Responsible for ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure: handle installing, configuring, monitoring, and managing the City's software, hardware, and end-user systems. Troubleshooting and addressing performance issues as needed to ensure the highest level of system performance and availability.
Duties
Essential Functions and Duties:

• Install and configure software and hardware; upgrade systems with new releases and models
• Support, configure, maintain, and upgrade end-user devices and applications.
• Manage, monitor, and maintain all installed systems and technology tools
• Proactively troubleshoot any issues or outages to ensure the highest level of systems and availability
• Monitor and test applications for potential issues, identify solutions and work with developer to implement fixes
• Maintain security through monitoring Next Gen Anti-Virus systems, controls, backups and redundancy strategies.
• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency
• Set-up user accounts, workstations, permissions, and passwords
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel to resolve issues
• Assist in Building and maintaining an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education and Required Experience:

• BS in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training in System Management
• CompTIA A+ or comparable system certification
• Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) - Required
• Experience with virtualization and containerization - Required VMware
• Experience in network and patch management - Required
• Experience with helpdesk, troubleshooting, and resolution - Required

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Familiar with various operating systems/platforms and backup/recovery software
• Ability to set-up and configure PCs Laptops, tablets, Smart phones other hardware
• Knowledge in Application Troubleshooting
