Job description

CPMC currently has an opening for Linux Server Administrator / Systems Engineer to work in our Oklahoma City, OK office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience supporting FAA by helping the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) server group. Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.

This position is responsible for technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding. Evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Duties include performing systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance.

IMPACT: Works independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables. Responsible for entire projects or processes within a technical area. Typically responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower level technical staff.

COMPLEXITY: Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution. Develops solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge.

COMMUNICATION: Communicates with internal and client project team members. Works to influence team members regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.

KNOWLEDGE: Requires deep understanding of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of technical domain and has broad understanding of other related specialty areas.

TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires BS and 4 ? 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 ? 6 years of prior relevant experience.

REQUIRED QUALS: Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator and minimum of 5 years of prior experience in addition to a bachelor?s degree. *Additional years of experience may be substituted for the degree.

DESIRED QUALS: In depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS, Debian and hands on experience with MySQL
