Summary: Primary responsibility is to foster a Continuous Improvement Environment, concentrating on 5S workplace organization, mistake proofing, set-up time reduction, total productive maintenance, problem solving and other lean and six sigma tools. You will perform data analysis, define priorities, and manage projects using tools such as; Impact VS. Effort, Design of Experiments, Design for Manufacturing, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, and Kaizen events. You will also be expected to champion Lean initiatives in both existing and new product lines. Daily responsibilities will include coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, safety, quality, warehouse, and purchasing to develop and guide those teams in creating new, and improving established processes. In addition the candidate will be expected to evaluate and make recommendations to improve safety, quality, productivity, profitability, and the efficiency of operations.

- Develop continual Process Improvement techniques in manufacturing, materials and office.
- Help to drive Lean culture transition throughout the organization.
- Focus on cost improvements by eliminating waste through the implementation of lean concepts.
- Identify issues with production equipment and proactively seek and drive solutions.
- Sustain and develop management reports and measurements to continually reinforce the practice of lean principles.
- Work with supervisors and managers, to direct shop floor training in lean concepts and practices
- Provide direction and support in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing improvements
- Identify, justify, and implement cost cutting and quality improvements activities by using new and/or better technologies, automation, and lean practices.
- Collaborate with the Quality Department to ensure that all problems are solved through Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions are deployed and properly documented and maintained.
- Work with Maintenance Department to implement preventive maintenance on all critical equipment.
- Develop and document new manufacturing processes
- Facilitate Kaizen events to drive continuous improvement, including joint events with customers, suppliers, and staff.
- Develop metrics, scorecards, and other indicators to assess the effectiveness of Lean activities.
- Must be a steward of the company and abide and uphold company policies.
Knowledge and Skill Requirement:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field preferred.
- Six Sigma Black Belt preferred, green belt or equivalent working experience working considered.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of experience in a continuous improvement and/or Six Sigma, manufacturing engineering role
Computer Skills:
- Proficient with MS Office
- Previous experience with CAD software such as DraftSight, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks preferred.
