Job Summary

The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing a wide range of IT Support to all employees including but not limited to hardware, software, and peripherals. The primary responsibility is to resolve issues by providing general user support, environmental support, and technical support that are in line with established service management and other standard operating procedures. IT Support Specialist uses sophisticated/complex tools and techniques to identify and present proactive solutions that will improve productivity. Will report to the IT Manager and to the office in Baton Rouge, LA.
 

Job Responsibilities but not limited to

  • Support users/user groups on all aspects of user-reported problems, including software, hardware, and peripheral equipment.
  • Maintain, configure, and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, computer image, software packages, backup systems, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Monitor, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, replacing defective components when necessary, and escalating as required.
  • Maintain cybersecurity and data security protocols for protecting sensitive data. Maintain and back up all user profiles, data, and equipment for active and terminated employees.
  • Deliver technical support to internal asset procurement and inventory processes and maintain a central data repository of all software licenses, hardware, and peripherals assets.
  • Understand and always comply with established processes, policies, and procedures supporting internal controls.
  • Provide initial response to end-user incidents received through service desk requests and office operational requirements.
  • Quickly restore staff to billability after technology failures by effectively addressing and resolving incidents
  • Provide diagnostic and support for Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office 365 products including configuration of Outlook both online and offline usage, and other office automation software.
  • Provide installation, maintenance and ensure operation of all devices including VDIs/desktop/laptop computers, printers and peripherals installed within the IT infrastructure.
  • Install and configure other specialized software and provide end user support.
  • Image laptops and desktops appropriately during initial deployment, maintenance, and end of life replacements.
  • Assist staff with audio visuals in conference rooms as needed.
  • Accept and perform special project assignments as deemed necessary by IT Manager.
  • Maintain current knowledge of desktop computing technology, applicable software tools and networking technologies.
  • Develop and expand knowledge of these technologies over time.

Job Qualifications

-       One to three years of help desk experience or similar job role. 

-       Prior A/E/C industry experience is a plus but not required. 

-       Knowledge of desktop troubleshooting and basic networking concepts. 

-       Basic knowledge of networking concepts and desktop troubleshooting. 

-       Current knowledge of VoIP-based telephones and Smart Phones is helpful in this role. 

-       Must be able to pass a drug test and have a valid driver's license. 

-       Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining an emphasis on detail and quality.

-       Effective communication with all levels of end users. 

-       Time management and problem-solving skills to minimize client down time.
