Job Summary
A main goal in this role is to effectively manage the exchange of information across a development project team. This role will also act as a guide and coach for Scrum principals through daily stand ups and agile tool management. Scrum masters may work on large complex projects or multiple smaller projects simultaneously.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Provides support to the Development Team using a servant leadership style and leading by example for complex projects or multiple complicated small to medium projects
Guides and coaches the Scrum Team and Development Team, using Agile/Scrum practices and values for self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks
Removes impediments or guides the team to remove impediments to progress
Builds a trusting and safe environment so problems can be raised without fear, retribution, or being judged
Emphasis is on healing and problem solving
Facilitates getting work done, discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
Supports and educates, especially with respect to refining/grooming and managing the product backlog
CANDIDATE SUMMARY
Required Experience
2+ years relevant work experience (w/ Bachelor’s degree)
6 years relevant work experience (w/out Bachelor’s degree)
Required Leadership Traits and CharacteristicsFamiliarity with relevant methodologies, tools and techniques (Scrum principles, practices, and theory)
Scrum Master certification preferred
Experience leading and motivating others, while demonstrating empathy
Formal Education, Qualifications or Training
Bachelor's degree
