Job description

Program Manager role - Clarity from the manager -- Actually it’s a Communications to Tokyo of reporting Financial industry projects with experience in Technology role.

So far the resumes are not to his expectations. Or maybe some of his expectations have changed.

This is not a pure Project Manager role this role is supporting management, Japanese communications skill.

HE wants people inside the financial industry – not remote, hybrid. He may consider remote and wants to talk about PM

Not pure project management role – communications role.
Program management – wants experience with IT program management (I think?) If he has experience with Japanese company or financial industry that would be good.
But if only working as a Project Manager it won’t work for him.

IDEAL EXPECTATIONS – can be remote, but must be perfect.
IF you want to send remote they have to have financial industry and work for a Japanese company and have formal language – Japanese writing skill. The highest formal way of writing in Japan.
Would rather focus on Japanese candidates.

If he or she is working as a program manager then he expects technology knowledge.

Must have Reporting experience Especially Financial industry related.

The role of this person is to communicate to Tokyo the candidate needs to understand how to Mizuho / Tokyo handles IT projects and how people in Tokyo communicate projects and this is Mizuho specific.
If this is remote this is difficult. If he or she sits next to him this is easier. He prefers onsite.

Also he’s searching for an FTE... he will accept more time for a person to train FTEs. But consultant they have to be perfect .
Prepare the documentation in English and then prepare it for senior management and present to Tokyo.

(Specific financial products like derivatives are a plus) He wants a bank related application understanding. And Technology. Reporting experience - communications

Show Experience on the resume of them communicating to Tokyo. Pure US Project Manager is not going to work. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE in Tokyo or to Tokyo.

Received a confirmation from the manager to submit candidates who can work fully remote; however, please limit your submission to highly skilled and experienced people, as the manager cannot devote enough time to teach them in a timely manner.

On the top of the resume, please indicate their proficiency in Japanese writing skills (on a scale of 1 to 10) and whether or not they can work remotely or in a hybrid environment

Lastly, ensure that they have below essential experience to be updated in Job Description:
· Have an experience in Japanese Financial Institute
· Have an experience in IT Project PMO
· Have an experience in Japanese Senior Management Report

feedback from the manager on interviewed candidates from other agencies-

· Less BA/PM experience

· No Japanese document experience

· No HO coordination

· No Financial Institute experience

Essence of the Req
This is a PM for technology projects, but its more coordination and interacting with the Head office and learning Tokyo reporting systems.
Its mostly reporting and coordination with the home office you dont have to be a Tech PM you can be a regular PM who speaks and writes Japanese really well and who works

Supporting this Technology project, dont need strong technology if you are Japanese and worked in the USA at a Japanese company and have no technology its ok if you dont have financial knowledge. But still must be a PM.

PM role focusing on coordination with the Head Office. Since this is a Project Manager role focusing on IT project
( do not need to know IT now MATERIAL CHANGE , technology PM is now a plus. Coordination. Head Office coordination.
Japanese bank - work with Japanese people to follow Japanese procedures.

Things like -
When we get project approval from Tokyo or go live or get funding we need to get approval from Tokyo.

If he doesnt have any financial knowledge, experience on the banking side is preferrable. 2 nd choice ) Experience with a Japanese company and no financial is 2 nd choice . Its more not running the project, instead its gathering the information from the project PM and prepare the presentation. Preparing a conversation with the Head office counterpoint. Supporting this Technology project, dont need strong technology .

IF THEY HAVE A STRONG CANDIDATE OUTSIDE THE TRI-STATE they would consider, But they want a face to face interview onsite THEY REALLY WANT A HYBRID candidate, the other agency who asked this question backed down.
Prepare Japanese document to present to the Japanese head office. Write in Japanese

3 rounds of interviews at most. Can be extended. They prefer a Permanent employee, this role was perm before. So its convertible
