Job Summary:
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to support the Transmission Project Management (TPM) portfolio, primarily in the Niagara Region but potentially covering various regions as business needs evolve. The role involves managing a portfolio of projects through all stages of planning, design, construction, and closeout, ensuring they meet schedule and budget requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project meetings, prepare and distribute minutes.
- Provide weekly and as-needed project updates, maintaining clear and frequent communication with the project manager.
- Manage project schedules and budgets, including monthly updates, development of resource plans, and monitoring progress.
- Ensure document control, maintaining organized file structures and updating project documents.
- Oversee contract management, including maintaining pay requisitions, reviewing contractor invoices, and enforcing contract terms.
- Handle change management, including negotiating contractor change orders and developing change documentation.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews and monitor vendor performance.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies, maintaining a risk register.
- Support procurement processes through technical bid evaluation.
- Plan outages based on project schedules and coordinate requests.
- Facilitate project closeout, assembling turnover documentation.
- Conduct site visits as needed, assuming monthly for pricing purposes.
Qualifications:
•
- Proven experience in Project Engineering and delivering complex projects within schedule and budget.
- Knowledge in substation design, electrical, civil/structural, P&C design and standards, construction methods, and permitting requirements.
- Proficient in Project Management processes and practices.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a portfolio of projects in various stages effectively.
- Professionalism in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
